About
Over the last decade entrepreneur Mark LaFay began and developed one of the most recognized and successful entertainment companies in the mid-west. With a production company responsible for promoting and marketing events all over Indianapolis and a management company that oversaw and developed the careers of artists such as Haste the Day and others, he has been successful at selling over half a million records and seeing his roster’s albums released all over the world.
After graduating high school at the age of 17 Mark went into college and began booking events for bands around Indianapolis. It was also during this time that he began managing his first band, a local up and coming rock band called Haste the Day.
By the time he was 18 Mark was booking national tours for Haste the Day and had already begun soliciting their demo to several record labels around the country. A year later, after successfully negotiating a multi-album, worldwide recording contract, Haste the Day entered into a contract with the Seattle recording company Tooth and Nail Records.
After the success of Haste the Day, Mark picked up the Michigan based band Still Remains. By this time he had made a name for himself nationally not only as a promoter and booking agent but as a manager as well. Practically all of the biggest names in independent rock record labels had submitted contracts for Still Remains. In the end the band signed a multi-album, worldwide recording contract with one of the largest independent record companies in the world, Roadrunner Records.
Over the last 10 years Mark has worked with companies all over the world and established successful business connections and sales all over Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Through these experiences he has learned the value in making mutually beneficial relationships. Despite the confidence and tenacity it takes to start, lead and maintain an independent business, Mark has learned how to react and communicate with people so that all the parties involved share in success.
Today Mark is playing an integral role in developing the Events and Entertainment Division of BohlsenPR, a full service public relations and marketing agency located in Indianapolis. Mark is tasked with creating new business, and developing new systems that will, in-time, transform the BohlsenPR into a one stop shop for all things event related.
